Create a game with the mode and board above and send your friend the code, or type the code your friend sent you (their mode and board are used).
Both phones need the internet. Moves, chat, your name and avatar go only to your opponent, end-to-end encrypted with the game code.

Animated avatars, named after Zimbabwean totems (mitupo).
Your picture stays on this phone. In online games a small copy is shown to your opponent.
Line up your face in the circle.
Your look is your own. Theme, background, counters, hole size, hand and speed change only on your phone; your opponent keeps theirs.
Board size, starting seeds and computer level are chosen in Play New Game.
Your quick messages. Tap × to remove one, or add your own (up to 12).
Each player owns the two rows nearest them. Your top row faces your opponent. Seeds always travel anticlockwise around your own two rows: left to right along your bottom row, then right to left along your top row.
Same board, same anticlockwise sowing, but captured seeds come back into play on your side. The aim is to own every seed.
Tsoro is played many ways across Zimbabwe. These are the rules this app uses.

Help and suggestions: help@gameofphones.net
The Tsoro app, its design, app icon, artwork, animated avatars, code, name and logo are the property of Elton Phiri. The traditional game of tsoro belongs to the people of Zimbabwe; this app is one creative telling of it.
You may install and play this app for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, decompile, modify, resell, republish or redistribute the app or its code, artwork or content, in whole or in part, without written permission from Elton Phiri. Sharing the official app with friends so they can play is allowed. The app is provided as is.
Tsoro has no accounts and no tracking. A small advertising bar sits at the bottom of the screen; it never covers the board and does not collect data about you. Your name, avatar, photo and settings are saved only on your phone. In online games your name, avatar or a small copy of your photo, your moves and your chat messages are sent to your opponent's phone through an internet relay service. They are end-to-end encrypted with the game code, so the relay cannot read them, and your name and picture are withdrawn from the relay when you leave the game. Tsoro has no server of its own and keeps nothing. The camera is used only when you tap "Take a selfie". Suggestions you send from your profile go through your own email app to help@gameofphones.net.
Relay services are run by third parties. Only share your game code with the person you want to play. You give up this game and take the loss.
Tell Elton what would make Tsoro better. Every suggestion is read.
Your phone opens your email or another app to send it. Nothing is sent without you.
